Psychotherapy and Counselling

"Helping you make sense of the way you feel."

Life can sometimes seem very complicated, and while we may be surrounded by many different ways to communicate, we can still at times feel very much on our own. At different stages in life we all experience dilemmas or emotional difficulties that we feel unsure about, or unable to tackle on our own.  In many instances family and friends may be able to help.  There are times however, when we want to have a more objective view of what is occurring. This is when therapy can be particularly useful.

"Therapy can give us the space and time to think."

Talking through problems and dilemmas, and having someone impartial to think about these things with you, can bring about a sense of relief or clarity.  It can also help to develop an insight into what may be occurring and why.  This can, in turn, provide the potential for greater self awareness which may bring about change or understanding.

Therapy offers the opportunity to more fully understand thoughts, feelings and behaviour.  In doing so it can provide the chance to open up our thinking and allow us to adapt or change what no longer feels helpful. The process involves working in partnership with a practitioner who is skilled in helping you to think about and deal with whatever it is that is getting in the way and preventing you from feeling satisfied.  This is something that, given the right circumstances, we can all do.

In working together with you, a trained and experienced therapist can support you in thinking about what may be taking place, and identifying why it may be happening.

"In actively thinking about the way we feel we create the possibility of being who we want to be."
